Model Railway Layout Video

Video of my entire model railway layout and the thinking behind it.

When deciding how to name my working model railway layout, I took the suggestion of my then colleague, Richard, by naming my model railway layout ‘Bathford Junction’. ‘Bath’ is from Bath Spa of course and the ‘ford’ part comes from Midford Junction which I have modelled with some artistic licence! The railway is based on the Somerset and Dorset in the 1950s and 60s. So far it has taken me about five years and it’s not finished yet!

Part of the layout is based on the Somerset and Dorset railway. However I have taken the liberty of including locomotives and rolling stock which did not necessarily run on this line. I have chosen to include locomotives that are personal favourites and sentimental connections such as 9Fs, baby deltics and B1’s.

Still under development is Sidmouth railway station so this is not included in the model railway layout video – yet.
